About Michael Lam
Mike is a self-admitted 80’s music fan, with nearly 10 years of experience in HR in a number of areas including job evaluation, human rights, learning and development, collective bargaining, corporate social responsibility reporting, health and safety, employee engagement, recruitment and selection.
Prior to joining HRIM, Mike was a Senior HR Consultant for a national-sized company with over 30,000 employees and $7B in revenue. He was known for providing advice based on thorough research and analysis, delivering results and once trying to pass a crumpled paper ball from cubicle to cubicle all around the 6th floor in the name of “team building”. While the paper ball did make around the cubicles on his floor, his ultimate dream was to eventually pass the crumpled paper ball around the entire 28-storey building. (Currently, he has settled on trying to slowly change the HRinmotion blog into a 80’s music site without Mo noticing.)
Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Diploma of Technology in Human Resources Management. He is passionate about community involvement, corporate social responsibility and a finely prepared Indian curry.
