“I read your article about work skill, and you mention that volunteering is a great way to collect work experience. But I do not known how to connect with volunteer places. Would you supply some websites for me and simply describe the step for how to apply for volunteer work.“
Here are some local sites:
Volunteer Vancouver – a great site that lists all the different volunteering opportunities in the city. With 65 years of service, this organization has developed a solid reputation as a community advocate.
Charity Village – another great volunteer site with a Canadian focus. This site has become the leading online source of information, news, jobs, services and resources for the Canadian nonprofit community. Today, our site includes more than 3,500 pages of information and is accessed by more than 25,000 people every day.
Crisis Centre of BC – Volunteering at the Crisis Centre, either on the Distress Line, Community Education program, or the Board of Directors, is a great way to make a contribution to the community. All volunteers receive extensive, recognized training and obtain practical field experience. It is especially helpful for those planning a career in the fields of counseling, education, patient care, or recreation.
