5 Likely Software Tester or Quality Assurance Tester Job Interview Questions

A QA Sotware Tester, needs to be able to balance multiple priorities and respond quickly to changing demands.   Tell me about some situations in which you were working to meet a testing deadline and had to adjust quickly to changes in organizational or departmental priorities. How did the changes affect you?

Think back in your career as a QA Tester and describe a time when you faced unreasonable goals or expectations in a testing assignment? How did you respond.

Verbal communication skills are vital to being a successful QA Tester.  Tell me about a time when you had challenges communicating test results.

The ability to clearly document test results is a core skill of a Software Tester.  Tell me about a time when the test documentation you created did not communicate what you intended.

Finding problems is a core skill of a good Software Tester.  Tell me about a time when you had to review detailed test scripts or documentation to identify a problem.

We don’t always agree on work matters.  As such, resolving differences is critical to being a successful Quality Assurance Software Tester.  Give me an example when you did not agree with your colleague or boss regarding a test plan you created.
